There’s something special about motoring down a desert trail nearly silently. You can hear gravel, sand, and the occasional desert scrub under your tires. Listen closely, and you’ll make out lizards as they skitter out of your path. You can even smell the distinct hot, dusty musk of the air through your mask, thanks to the lack of an internal combustion engine to contend with. The surrounding view will take some getting used to, though. To my right is an ornate center console, designed to evoke an Eames chair. Directly in front of me is a beautifully finished dashboard with equally ornate billet switchgear. And out of my upright windshield is the distinct, stubby nose of a vintage Ford Bronco. What gives? It’s the Zero Labs Ford Bronco, an electrified rethink of the classic Bronco for the modern world.
